H.S. ‘BOBBY’ CHANDHOKE
Bobby is one of the Founding Partners for The Firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice.
A seasoned commercial disputes specialist, he has over 25 years of experience in handling both ad-hoc and institutional commercial arbitrations, including those conducted under the ICC, SIAC, LCIA and DAC rules.
He has been involved in several domestic & international Arbitrations as the lead counsel, and has extensively dealt in matters of interim reliefs, emergency reliefs as well as recognition and enforcement of foreign awards. Bobby has advised clients in relation to various aspects of Bilateral Investment Treaties & Agreements, including arbitration. He served as an expert witness in widely reported investment arbitration against India.
Bobby is widely regarded for his sharp business acumen and is appreciated for taking a 360 degree view of potential issues, given his vast experience in transaction advisory across various laws and sectors.
As a litigator, he has handled cases in almost every area of the law, including landmark cases, and his engagements are often multi-jurisdictional in nature. He has represented and advised clients on the full spectrum of complex commercial & corporate matters across a wide range of industries covering Automobile, Banking & Finance, Pharmaceuticals, Telecom, Construction & Engineering, Infrastructure, Insolvency & Restructuring, and Media & Entertainment.

Mr. Chandhoke is an eminent member of illustrious Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Panel of Arbitrators. SIAC is a premier arbitral institution and globally recognized leader in arbitral innovation with arbitrators from more than 40 jurisdictions. Other illustrious Indian members of the panel include former Chief justices of the Supreme Court and counsel of eminent standing.
Sudhir specialises in Dispute Resolution, covering the entire spectrum of commercial matters, including Joint Ventures, Oil & Gas, contractual disputes, Mining, consumer disputes and Competition.
He is a versatile lawyer who regularly appears before various arbitral tribunals and courts in India; and is frequently engaged in several prominent matters before the Supreme Court and High Court at Delhi; with an extensive experience of handling arbitrations under the auspices of UNCITRAL, ICC and LCIA, amongst others.
Sudhir has led arguments in various international and domestic arbitrations (including enforcement of foreign awards); apart from arguing matters before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and various Hon’b’le High Courts of the Country; and in, among other places, Singapore and London. Possessing an experience of over two and a half decades in the field of Dispute Resolution, Sudhir has argued Arbitrations presided over by QC’s, retired Hon’ble Supreme Court and High Court Judges; and is a well-known name in the field of Dispute Resolution and Arbitration. As such, he effectively presses into service his rich and diverse knowledge and trial court experience, to deliver desirable results and solutions to his clients.

VIJAY K. SONDHI
Mr. Vijay K. Sondhi is the Co-founder and a Senior Partner at L&L Partners, one of India’s globally recognized law firms. He is also a reputed member and former Vice-Chairman of the Bar Council of Delhi.
He has worked in diverse fields of law and his experience of almost three decades, extends to all aspects of litigation and arbitration. He has an extensive experience in both domestic and international arbitrations. He has extensively handled disputes pertaining to debt recovery, banking and financial issues, commercial and corporate disputes and real estate.
He also specializes in Criminal Law, more particularly White Collar Crimes, International crime syndicates, Extradition and Frauds, Anti-Piracy and Anti-Counterfeiting. He has successfully represented clients before the Special CBI Courts constituted specially to prosecute offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and other matters before the Trial Courts across India. As lead Counsel, he has successfully argued bails, execution, jurisdictional issues, challenge to summoning orders and charge-sheets before various Courts.
He is also proficient in cross border enforcement of decrees and awards. He is currently handling a number of arbitration matters relating to investment disputes, shareholders’ disputes, bank guarantee disputes, etc., both in domestic and foreign jurisdictions. He has successfully presented and defended numerous lawsuits involving contractual breaches, construction claims, tender disputes, defamation, winding up, insolvency claims and employment related litigation.
He regularly appears before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi. Mr. Sondhi has been appearing as lead counsel before various Judicial and quasi–judicial forums including, inter alia, various High Courts, erstwhile Monopoly and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC), Appellate Authority of Industrial Financial Restructuring (AAIFR), the Board of Industrial and Financial Restructuring (BIFR), the Competition Commission of India (CCI), Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) as well as the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
He has successfully represented clients (Toyota Kirloskar) before the Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal in environmental matters relating to banning of Diesel cars in NCR and assisted the Hon’ble Supreme Court in giving a special status to hybrid cars for the purposes affixing colour coded stickers. He also represented Clients (Heritage Resorts Limited) for use of their purchased (allegedly forest) land in Ajabgarh for construction of its Resort. He has also successfully represented clients [Welspun Energy (U.P.) Pvt. Ltd.] in an appeal against an environmental clearance granted to Welspun and also represented Clients before the Jabalpur Bench of the National Green Tribunal in matters relating to waste management.
He has also appeared and argued as the lead counsel in various arbitral proceedings conducted under the London Court of International Arbitration Rules, Investment Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and International Chamber of Commerce Rules of Arbitration.
He has been a faculty member at the ‘Fore School of Management’ for their Chapter on ‘Corporate Laws.’ He is also the former director on the Board of Saket City Hospital and continues to serve on the Board of Le Meridian Hotel. He is also a member of the Governing Body of Daulat Ram College falling under University of Delhi.
He is currently an elected Member, and former Secretary and former Vice-Chairman of The Bar Council of Delhi. He is also associated with LIFE Foundation, a Society which endeavours to uphold and obtain due recognition of the rights and privileges of society through Public Interest Litigation; seeking the help of the judiciary as and when the executive fails to protect such rights and privileges.
He has been a guest speaker on numerous occasions for the Ophthalmologist Society of Delhi addressing the legal aspects involved in the medical profession including liability for medical negligence and its legal repercussions.
